all rathbuns can parallel park

today is my road test. aunt d says that all rathbuns can parallel park, and my dad says that i'm genetically predisposed to be a good (fast?) driver. i guess we'll find out!

what does one wear to a road test? tim, my driving instructor, suggested that they might take my, uh, advanced age into account. to that end, i am driving my grandmother's car.

i love my tattoo!

i got a tattoo in key west. i had always wanted one, but i only just decided what it should be. my tattoo is a birthday present (4 months early) from dad. i was very nervous in the hour before my tattoo appointment, but it was not scary or painful at all, and i've been happy ever since! dad and ryan came for 'support' but dad couldn't watch!

the butterfly museum

one of the highlights of key west was the butterfly museum. the butterflies are beautiful and sometimes they land on you. i couldn't help noticing that they were wearing the new spring collections. from left to right, jean-paul gaultier, chloe, christian lacroix.

last week i didn't have to wear any boots! we had a great time in key west despite dad's and ryan's dorkiness. i went kayaking, sat on the beach, shopped, went to the butterfly museum and learned to play tennis, sort of...

going to key west, PART 2: janet and charlotte to the rescue!

thanks to janet and charlotte (and my christmas presents from aunt d) i am ready for key west! last night i went to janet's and borrowed some of charlotte's cute sundresses. here are pictures of two of them, and here's hoping that char feels better before sundress time rolls around again! luckily, i am not checking any luggage, so charlotte will get the dresses back next week.

i won't be able to do my blog from key west so my next post will be on the 14th. i think everyone will be ok without me except for rayball, who might have to read teen vogue for entertainment.

ok guys...

so what do people wear in key west? i'm very excited to go on vaca with dad and the nerd, but my wardrobe is, well, questionable. for some reason, i have the idea that everyone in key west wears hawaiian shirts and tropical print dresses, as in these photos. luckily, i have a new sundress and yellow pants from aunt debbie, but we'll be there for a week. i'm just not a tropical girl! i have the distinct feeling that my skull necklace is not going to fit in...
